Halloween Pictures

From 2008_10_31

Lily is a Chinese girl, Eve is a ballerina and Abigail is a flapper.

Here's Abigail with her headband.

The girls made a killing on candy this year because we celebrated Halloween with several different events. We kicked it off going to the zoo for "Zoo Boo". At the zoo there were lots of booths with crafts, candy and trinkets for each of the girls. I didn't take too many pictures because I was busy trying to keep all three girls with me. But we had a ton of fun. My favorite part was a juggling show called "Clan Tynker". They were so fun and the tricks were fantastic.

Next on our Halloween calendar was Lily's school parade and party on Wednesday. I was able to drop off Eve at preschool then stay in Lily's class for most of the day with Abigail. The costume parade was really cute with alot of variety. There didn't seem to be an obvious favorite superhero or princess this year. The class party consisted of a table of food, (the teacher had requested no candy be sent) games and crafts. I love participating with Lily and her class and getting to know her friends and teacher better. The class party was a great time for me to be there since Abigail could come to and not be too distracting. Lily was a really proud big sister and let Abigail be next to her for most of the activities.

Wednesday night was our ward party. Gordon and I dressed up as a "Dancing With the Stars" couple. Gordon claimed he was the star, aka: the bad dancer, and I was the professional. I was wearing a sequined dress I found at savers and Gordon wore a bow tie. The party ended with trick-or-treating around to the classroom doors. Our ward has a small primary so the kids went around and around until the adult ran out of candy. Each of the girl's buckets were full to overflowing!

On Halloween Gordon's office invites all the employees to bring in their children for trick-or-treating around the building. Here is where the kids made out like bandits! They filled up their buckets, stopped at Daddy office to unload and filled them up again! They had a lot of fun being complimented and doted on. Everyone melted when they heard Abigail's little voice saying "trick-or-treat".

I know normal people would have stopped here, with the sweets overflowing. But we feel Halloween is a great chance to meet the neighbors. So we still took the kids door to door on our street.

Now we are trying to figure out way to rid ourselve of the bulk of our candy collection. We've already donated a bag of candy to the bishop, since he gives candy to all the kids who come to visit him every Sunday. Gordon says someone at his office is collecting non-chocolate candy to send to soldiers in Iraq. We're also thinking of putting together packages and sending them to missionaries.

Don't worry, after all that, we'll still have plenty left for our kids to get cavities from!
