Tuesday I didn't take too many pictures, sorry. Tuesday morning Gordon went off to learn so I went and met with a friend. We had fun browsing through Ikea. I'm still sad I don't have one of those in Albuquerque. It's too bad I was flying home, there are some fun book shelves there I would've brought home with me. At lunch time I met up with Gordon again and we attempted to run a 3k put together by the society as a fundraiser for a scholarship. We didn't train for this, we don't run, ever, so I don't know what craziness came over us to sign up to race. At least we had good weather for being outside and we got new shirts and water bottles. Tuesday night was a dinner put on by the Society at the Experience Music Project and the Science Fiction Museum.
The music part has a huge exhibit about Jimi Hendrix life, which was interesting, but we were much more excited when we got to the Science Fiction Museum. We are nerds at heart. You're not allowed to take pictures inside the museum, but they have the coolest stuff. There are tons of props and costumes from movies and TV shows like; ET (the actual suit!) weapons from several shows, several robots (like R2-D2!) the bridge from Star Trek and several of their uniforms, including the head-piece from when Picard was assimilated into the Borg. They also had a wall of fame of authors whose books contributed to the genre. I wished I had brought a notebook for a list of the books. Most of them looked so interesting I wanted to read them. I had read a couple of the books listed, some Isaac Asimov and Orson Scott Card. Most I hadn't read.
