Frost

The trees covered in frost enchanted me. I know most of the country is tired of the snow. But this was my first visit to the cold this season. It was so beautiful. A perfect day to play outside.

Krispy Kreme donuts

I really can't place my finger on why, but I think Krispy Kreme donuts are the best donuts made. I was introduced to them for the first time five years ago. We were on vacation and the "Hot Now" sign caught our eye. How was I to know that after that night no other donut would ever do? Now it is becoming a favorite, although rare treat.

We just got back from taking Lily's pictures. So which do I have printed? It's hard to decide.

Should we take her to the doctor?

It seems like every time one of the girls get sick we put off going to the doctor as long as possible. Then, usually at night or on a weekend we finally decide she should be seen. But we have to debate, can it wait until the regular Pediatrician is open, or do we take her to Urgent Care?

Eve has had a fever for six days. She is hanging around 103 degrees. She is only happy when she is on ibuprofen. She has a runny nose, but not much coughing. I really feel that it's just a virus that the doctor can do nothing for anyway. But it worrys me that the fever has been so high for so long. She hasn't slept through the night this whole time either, and isn't eating well, which is very uncommon for her.

I caved in and called the doctor yesterday afternoon. Of course they couldn't fit her in that day and said to take her to urgent care if I was really worried. I didn't though, so I'm taking her to the Ped. this morning. Hopefully they can help her.

I am a mother of a 5 Year - Old!!!

Lily is now officially 5 years old. That makes me feel old. We're on the verge of a whole new chapter of our lives. She will be starting kindergarten, Aaack! And she is so ready to go and learn at school. Home has become too boring. I can hardly believe that I am the mother of a 5 year-old.

For Lily's horse party we started by giving everyone ears and a tail. They chose their "Horse names" that we wrote on the head band. Lily was "Buttercup". Then we fed the horses. They had to try to eat cereal without using their hands. Next we played "Pin the tail on the Pony". Then we stomped out flies, by tying balloons to everyone's ankles. We had a horse race, running on all fours, then a pinata. I'm very proud of my horse cake. The kids had fun neighing and galloping all afternoon.

Happy Birthday Lily!

Project: Patio

Here is our project as of Wednesday 2/8/06. We're almost done with the digging part. See, we are working, Jake, you won't have to do it all!

Project: Patio

We are excavating a ton of dirt so we can extend our patio around the corner of the house. I am hoping that against all odds, we will be able to finish by 1pm on Saturday. Lily's Birthday party is then.

This is as of Tuesday 2/7/06
