Dd said "I'm not sorry that Grandpa died."
Me "Why not?"
DD "Because I'll see him again in Heaven."
Me "Oh, well I'm still sad, because I'm going to miss him, and it seems like a long time until I'll get to Heaven."

Weather

This was a couple of days ago, while we were playing in the snow of Sugar City. It was nice to visit, and especially nice to leave behind. We're back in our 70 degree weather, cooking out, playing ball, and enjoying the sunshine to the fullest extent we can. Because someday soon, the table will turn, and Sugar City will have perfect days in the 70's, while we'll be stuck inside because it's 113.
She must have eaten something!
Lily is the steriotypical picky eater. Some time after the terrible twos were over, but before the fabulous fours set in, Lily learned the power of refusing to eat. She figured out that I can't force her to chew and swallow. No matter what I make, how I cut it, prepare and present it, it's done all wrong. It's not the way she likes it, and so she refuses to eat all meals. I have tried ignoring it, bribing with dessert, not allowing her to leave the table until something is tried. All my efforts have been in vain.
But today I realized that I hadn't recorded Lily's height on our growth chart yet. And now she's five. It's been five months since we last did it, at Eve's birthday. Both of my girls have grown over two inches in only five months! So I've figured it out. She must be eating when I'm not looking! While I am in the shower she must be quickly devouring all the vegetables that are icky during dinner. Hurry and swallow some peas while I'm changing Eve, grab a banana if I'm distracted on the phone. There's no way one forced bite a day could sustain this kind of growth, so I've discovered her secret!

So I got tagged by Amber.
5 Things Game
What were you doing 10 years ago? I was 15, so I was taking driver's Ed. I was a Sophomore in HS. I had lots of crushes on lots of boys, that I never ended up dating. I started learning to play the flute.
What were you doing 1 year ago? I had a 5 month old baby. I had just joined in with helping the Young Women as the Mia maid Advisor.
Five snacks I enjoy: Chocolate, smooties, Pizza bites, Strawberries, Dried Apricots
Five songs to which I know all the lyrics: On Top of the World, Wonderwall, Born to be Wild, Other side of the Radio, Head, Shoulders, knees and toes (in Portugese!)
Five things I would do if I were a millionaire: use the million as leverage for 100 million, Own my house outright, buy Dh the lasik surgery he wants, hire a maid, attend photography school
Five bad habits: playing Spider, Not washing the dishes the day they're dirtied, forgetting laundry in the washer (in my defense it's outside, out of sight, out of mind) impatience with dd's
Five things I like doing: dancing, reading, hanging out with dh, wrestling with dd's, going for slow walks
Five things I would never buy, wear, or get new again: florescent turtlenecks, (I'm having a hard time thinking of stuff for this question), maybe warm socks (since I'm in AZ) Winter coats, gloves, or a sled
Five favorite toys: our new grill, chocolate fountain, dartboard, porch swing and windows media player.
Here's the deal: Remove the blog in the top spot from the following list and bump everyone up one place. Then add your blog to the bottom slot:
1. Disparate Housewife
2. My Blog Is About Nothing
3. The Mama
4. Soggy Cheerios
5. It's a Beautiful morning
And tag five people
I'm not very internetly social yet. I don't think I know five bloggers
But I know two
1. Hope
2. Emily
