We Had a Birthday!

Lily has seven candles in her cake now! We celebrated by having a few friends over and they played games. They were actually alot calmer than I was expecting. They were all of Lily's quiet friends. But it seems they all had fun.



Things Lily is learning to do (or doing already)now that she's seven:

Rollerblade (thanks to Grandma!)
Tying shoes
Making her own bed (she loves to add pillows and animals to make it pretty.)
Memorizing math facts
Her own hair

We love you Lily!

Our House Closed!

Hooray! Our old house is sold and passed onto the next owner. It took alot more time and fuss then I was prepared for. I'm grateful to have this stress over and we can move forward now. But don't ask me where forward is yet. We're still debating about where in this valley we want to live, and when we'll move, and how much of a mortgage to get, and how to finance it, and what kind of house to get, and, and, and....

She's on the phone

Abigail's favorite thing to play with is the phone. Cell phone or land line, it doesn't matter to her. She loves the buttons, the beeping, the occasional "Hello...Hello?" The other day I let her play with my cellphone for quite a while. Every so often I would come and hit the "end" button, but I let her have at it for a good half an hour.

Later came the real fun as several confused friends and family called me to ask if I had called them. It was a fun way to get to chat with some that I don't call often enough.

So, sorry about the confusion but, no I didn't call you, Abigail did.

Happy Groundhog's Day!

According to Punxsutawney Phil we'll have six more weeks of winter. To celebrate we had some friends over for dinner and games. This brings me to my latest random thought. The hardest part of making dinner every day is deciding what to make. I went grocery shopping this morning and still stood in my kitchen this evening drawing a blank. I eventually settled on hambergers and cut vegetables and it seemed to go over well with my family and our guests.

Field Trip!

I went on a field trip with Lily's class to the Pueblo Indian Cultural Center. It was really fun meeting her friends and some of the other parents. The center had some art to look at, some art to do, a storyteller and some history lessons for the kids. One of the favorite things to do was weaving.


This is something I used to do with popcicle sticks and yarn to make Christmas ornaments. I never realized you could make such beautiful art this way.

Scissorhands Strikes Again!

At least this time it wasn't human hair.


She was doing this in my bedroom while I had visiting teachers over. She ended up being required to give her newest (and still undamaged barbie) to Lily to make up for ruining some of Lily's dolls.

Happy Un-birthday

We had some wonderful friends come from Arizona to visit us. One of the things we did with them was celebrate all of the kids birthdays since we were going to miss them. We made a cake and sang "Happy Birthday to You" six times. We lit, and blew out, candles six times. We gave six birthday presents. It was fun and hilarious.
